I seem to have said this a lot over the past few weeks, however regardless of what may or may not be happening outside of our four walls and with Brexit negotiations in mind, the Residential & Residential Development market seem to be growing from strength to strength as we approach the middle of Q3.
July represented a record-breaking month for the Residential desk with in-excess of 30 placements being made and we are presently on track to make in excess of 250 placements for the year, which would represent an increase of 20% from 2018. With Summer upon us, we have seen an influx of Graduates who are now looking again to re-establish themselves within the property sector and forge a career within a challenging, yet lucrative industry.
At the other end of the spectrum and with the above in mind, the Residential desk have successfully filled two Head of Sales mandates for two prestigious London developers. Our latest mandate is taking us to the Midlands where we are now looking to fill a Sales & Marketing Director role for a separate, highly recognised UK developer.
Ok, these roles haven’t been filled or sourced overnight; however, I feel it finally indicates a shift in the market and that these developers who we have continued to support closely are now seeing a reason to plan ahead, launch their developments and look towards a positive 2020.
The above can be mirrored by an upturn in developers who are looking for experienced Consultants to join their sites across London and the South East. Our clients are keen to meet candidates who are potentially looking to branch away from the high street and explore a new & exciting career change on developments that offer an opportunity to work in your own micro market.
Over the next 6-12 months, the Residential desk will continue to forge into the PRS / BTR market. With so much buzz in this area of the market, along with so many developers now looking to create a community within a uber modern development, surely this could create interest for those of you who want a different challenge within the Lettings market. Could you be looking for an improved work/life balance? Or, would a more competitive basic salary be of interest? This area of the market could offer you both.
The next few months represents the best time for you take that initial step into property, change direction or have that conversation which represents that step up in your career. The Residential desk at GKR London have every base covered and this is the best time for you to get in touch to explore your options.
